Rick James is an R&B singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer who has made a name for himself. And, although he passed away more than 15 years ago, his legacy is carried on by millions around the world as well as his children.
Rick James is the father of four children
James has four children, two of which he shares with former singer-songwriter Syville Morgan: Tyenza and Rick James Jr. From 1982 to 1984, after his divorce from Morgan, he dated actress Linda Blair. He contacted her after reading an article she called him attractive. Unfortunately, shortly after they started dating, she became pregnant but had to have an abortion. It was a difficult choice for James, and he wrote about it in his book.
Linda is someone I care about, and I’m sad that she chose to kill our baby without even telling me about it first. I still regret her decision and think about our baby and how that child will affect my life. Tanya Hijazi, whom James met in 1989, eventually became his girlfriend. In 1993, they had their only child, son Tazman. The couple got married in 1996 and divorced in 2002 after 6 years of marriage. The famous artist also has another child named Trey Hardesty James, but the boy’s mother is unknown.
Teena Marie assisted in raising Rick James Jr.
Although it is not clear when James and Teena Marie started dating, their relationship and numerous collaborations suggest that they are very close. They were engaged for two weeks and their professional relationship continued until 2004 when she published the album La Doa, which contained a duet with James titled “I Got You”. On the other hand, Marie and James’ relationship is much deeper, and she even raised his son Rick James Jr. She tells the story of how she ended up taking care of Rick Jr.

Tyenza takes over Rick James’ property after his death
Tyenza, the eldest of James’ four children, was the president of the estate. She, like her father, is passionate about music, even though her father wants her to avoid it. Tyenza is the CEO of Stone City Brands in addition to managing her father’s estate. Tyenza also has two children, Charisma and Jasmine. Charisma is the eldest of two and the mother of two children, Harmony and Zy’aire.
