Hundreds are hitting the lanes in Davenport for one of Iowa’s largest and most popular bowling tournaments.   The 100th annual Iowa USBC Bowling Tournament started Saturday. Thousands of bowlers will compete for hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes.   Bowlers will be in town each weekend between now and May, giving our area some major recognition.   “7,000 people, they need hotels to stay in, places to eat and sleep. Definitely a big boost to the economy. We’re just excited to be able to host it here in the Quad Cities,” said Joshua Witt of the Greater Davenport USBC Bowling Association.   Bowlers are competing at Leisure Lanes on 73rd Street and Big River Bowl on Kimberly Road.
