Melissa Fumero and Andy Samberg will work together again in Digman! an adult animated series created by Samberg himself and Neil Campbell (via Variety). Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine couldn’t be more excited to see two of their favorite actors working together, mostly since they recently had to say goodbye to the beloved sitcom.

Andy Samberg plays Jake Peralta’s character in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a cheerful cop who dreams to become his Die Hard hero, John McClane. Soon, Jake became one of the most beloved characters on TV, and people constantly share content about him on all social media.

He Didn’t Have A Good Time In Florida

Jake is an excellent cop. Unfortunately, this means that sometimes he gets in very dangerous situations, such as when he needs to leave the state and adopt a new identity in Florida. Since his life is in New York, Jake understandably has a hard time adapting to his new life.

In a typical Jake fashion, he tries to pretend he’s doing okay, although Holt spotted him eating a wet burrito while crying in a Jacuzzi. Still, Jake manages to put himself together and find a way out of his situation, eventually returning to his job in New York.

He Has A Hard Time Controlling Boyle

Even though Boyle is the best friend anyone could ask for, he sometimes oversteps people’s boundaries, especially Jake and Amy’s. As this couple’s biggest fan, Boyle tends to be overly involved in their relationship to Jake and Amy’s dismay.

However, Jake and Boyle are still one of the best comedic duos on TV. Although sometimes Boyle can be a bit too much, there’s no doubt Boyle has the best intentions at heart, and only wants to make sure that his OTP lives the best life possible. Plus, his constant meddling in Jake and Amy’s relationship makes some of the funniest jokes in the show.

He Loves Doug Judy

Even though Doug Judy betrays Jake repeatedly, this doesn’t deter Jake from having the best bromance with the car thief. However, Rosa has a hard time understanding their relationship and remains cynical about them when she has to work alongside the dynamic duo.

Undoubtedly, Doug Judy and Jake have one of the bromances on TV. Even though they have very different perspectives on life, they put this aside and focus on what they have in common: a relentless love for all popular culture.

He Loves Saying “Cool, Cool, Cool”

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is known for some of the most hilarious quotes on television. Expressions like “cool, cool, cool,” “noice,” and “title of your sex tape” became very popular among fans of the show, which is proof of the big impact this series had on their audience.

It is not a coincidence that most of these phrases come from Jake since he’s one of the funniest characters in the show. Jake’s positive attitude, love for popular culture, and hilarious comebacks are a core part of the series, making his quotes some of the best ones in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

He And Gina Have A Special Relationship

Jake and Gina have a friendship like no other in the show. Since they know each other since childhood, they are extremely compatible and understand each other perfectly. What makes their relationship even better is that actors Andy Samberg and Chelsea Peretti also know each other since they were kids.

Even though sometimes Jake and Gina don’t see eye to eye, such as when Jake discovers that Gina initiated a nasty rumor about him in high school, they always find a way to work out their problems. Unfortunately, Gina left the series too soon, and fans didn’t have the opportunity to see as many interactions between these two characters as they would have liked.

He’s The Best Boyfriend And Husband To Amy

Although Jake and Amy have a rocky relationship at the beginning of the show, soon enough they discover they have more in common than they initially thought. The two characters become an item in the third season, and from then on they become inseparable.

Jake and Amy quickly became an example of how romantic relationships should be portrayed on television. Not only do these characters have amazing chemistry, but they also have a healthy relationship with plenty of communication, which has made them relationship goals for a lot of people.

No One Cares More About Him Than Boyle

Jake has many strong friendships in the show, such as Doug Judy and Gina Linetti, but still, Boyle is his more loyal friend. No one would cross as many lines as Boyle would do for Jake, and when Jake spends time in prison, Boyle even ages like 30 years out of stress.

What makes Jake and Charles perfect is the fact they don’t judge each other. Even though Jake perfectly knows all of Boyle’s flaws, he never tries to change anything about him. In the same way, Charles knows Jake can be impulsive and conceited, but he loves him no matter what.

He Loves Halloween Heists

The Halloween Heists episodes are probably the best ones in the show, and that’s a lot of taking into account that Brooklyn 99 is one of the best sitcoms of all time. Jake is the biggest fan of this dynamic, and he always plots for months and months the most intricate plans to create the perfect win.

However, the cop always has plenty of competition, the strongest one being Captain Holt. Even though these characters deeply love and respect each other, they don’t have a problem with continually betraying and potentially hurting each other during the Halloween Heists.

He’s Not Exactly Responsible

Even though Jake is excellent at his job, he can also be very irresponsible, mostly from Captain Holt’s and Amy’s points of view. He doesn’t always go by the book, he can be very unpunctual, and he always believes he has everything under control, even though sometimes that turns out to be a lie.

However, throughout the seasons, Jake learns how serious his job is, and he understands that he needs to be less impulsive. In the last season, he even starts questioning the police’s role in society, even going against everything he always believed.

He’s A Baby

Jake is a lot of fans’ favorite character from Brooklyn Nine-Nine because of his cheerful personality and kind heart. This character is constantly trying to look tough, like the protagonist of his favorite movie, John McClane, but in reality, Jake is a cinnamon roll.

Not only is this character funny and interesting, but he also proves to have the biggest heart in the show. He’s always there when his friends need him, even putting his life on the line sometimes. On top of that, he’s the sweetest husband and father, and Amy and Mac are lucky to have him.
