There are many unanswered questions about WrestleMania 40’s possible main event now that The Rock has returned. Some fans believe this will interfere with Cody Rhodes’ ability to “finish the story.”
Matt Hardy is still optimistic that “The American Nightmare” will eventually find an audience, though.
“I just think it’s the right thing to do,” he said on “The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy.” “He’s a guy that is around full time, working 24/7, working harder than anybody else is, and I think he’s the guy that is their top babyface, the guy to kind of build the brand around right now. So, yeah, I do think it’s going to happen.”
What does Matt Hardy have to say about Cody Rhodes’ odds of winning?
People were talking about “The People’s Champion” facing Roman Reigns as soon as The Rock teased the fans with the concept of him sitting at the head of the table. Hardy thinks the battle is still possible at some point.
“I don’t think the match has to be at WrestleMania. The match could be at WrestleMania,” Hardy said about The Rock versus Reigns.
“The Cody stuff could happen another time. The Cody stuff could happen at WrestleMania. I don’t know. We’ll just have to see how it plays out. But I do think Cody will end up winning the World Title, which will help finish his story.”
Elimination Chamber is a PLE that takes place in between ‘Mania and the future WWE Royal Rumble, even though Reigns is already scheduled for a match there.
Hardy responded, “I don’t think that’s out of the question,” when asked if The Rock versus Reigns may occur at that event in Australia. It is expected to be a significant stadium show for the WWE.
An AEW star believes WWE needs to let Cody Rhodes wrap up the narrative. In a street fight that took place last night on RAW, Cody Rhodes emerged victorious over Shinsuke Nakamura.
After winning the Royal Rumble 2023 and punching his way into WrestleMania’s main event against the undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes came dangerously close to wrapping up the tale last year.
Solo Sikoa’s outside meddling enabled Reigns to defeat Cody and hold onto the championship, extending his unstoppable reign as champion.
How has Rhodes’ journey been so far?
During his initial run with WWE, which lasted from 2006 to 2016, Rhodes gained notoriety by competing both under his real name and the ring name Stardust, which was an excessively theatrical, glitzy, and deep spin-off of his half-brother’s Goldust character.
In addition, Rhodes has wrestled for several other illustrious promotions, such as NJPW, ROH, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Aside from wrestling, he co-starred on the reality series Rhodes to the Top with his wife, Brandi Rhodes, and judged the competitive series Go-Big Show.
