Damson Idris is a famous British-Nigerian actor famous for his lead role in FX’s Snowfall created by the late Johns Singleton who was a great film director and screenwriter. Damson also had a co-lead role in Netflix’s Outside The Wire in 2021.

Idris rose to prominence with his compelling portrayal of Franklin Saint in FX’s critically acclaimed series, “Snowfall,” which premiered in July 2017. The series revolves around the life of Franklin Saint, a 19-year-old entangled in the drug trade in Los Angeles.

His journey to landing the role in “Snowfall” began with a video audition while he was still in London. He impressed the casting team, leading to an invitation to Los Angeles for an in-person audition. To ensure he fully embodied the character, Damson Idris spent an entire day working on his American accent with the late John Singleton, the show’s creator.

Before “Snowfall,” Damson Idris had already started making his mark in the film industry. In 2016, he appeared in the British thriller “City of Tiny Lights,” sharing the screen with Riz Ahmed. His American film debut came in 2017 with “Megan Leavey,” a war drama featuring Kate Mara as the lead. He continued to diversify his roles, playing an FBI agent alongside Liam Neeson in the 2018 film “The Commuter” and starring in “Farming” with Kate Beckinsale.
