The city of Davenport is featured in the latest episode of “John McGivern’s Main Streets,” a PBS show that documents the people, places and traditions of unique towns across the Midwest.

Hosted by six-time Emmy award-winning actor and host John McGivern, along with Emmy award-winning former host of “Discover Wisconsin,” Emmy Fink, “Main Streets” explores the Midwest’s charm through lively interviews with residents and civic leaders.

“John McGivern’s Main Streets” is a PBS show hosted by John McGivern and Emmy Fink.

In the summer of 2023, McGivern and Fink visited Davenport, exploring mainstays such as Palmer College of Chiropractic, Taste of Ethiopia, Figge Art Museum, Common Chord and Isabel Bloom, according to a Thursday release from Visit Quad Cities.

The show, filmed and produced by Plum Media based in Milwaukee, Wis., aims to capture the essence and uniqueness of each community it visits.

“Anytime the authenticity of the Quad Cities is showcased outside of the market is a win for our whole community,” Katrina Keuning, director of brand and content strategy at Visit Quad Cities, said Thursday. “The visibility that comes from productions like Main Streets proves to be incredibly valuable as we continue to attract more visitors, promote tourism, and enhance resident pride.”

The Davenport episode of “John McGivern’s Main Streets” is scheduled to air on PBS Wisconsin at 7 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Jan. 25. The episode will also be available for free on PBS Wisconsin’s YouTube page and the PBS app.
