Dr. N Gopalakrishnana was a prominent scientist at the Advanced Seismic Testing and Research Laboratory (ASTaR) of CSIR. Regarding his educational background, he the College of Engineering in Guindy and earned his BE degree.

Following that, Dr. Gopalakrishnan studied M.Tech at the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras. Likewise, he obtained Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru in 2008.

He worked as a design engineer at TATA Consulting Engineers, Bengaluru. Similarly, Dr. Gopalakrishnana joined as a scientist in the Structural Dynamics and Machine Foundation division of CSIR-SERC. 

In 2003, the late scientist got into the Earthquake Engineering division of CSIR-SERC, also called the ASTaR lab. Apart from that, Dr. Gopalakrishnan is noted as the co-author of 61 national and international journal articles and whetted for five Indian patents.

Dr. N Gopalakrishnan was 68 years of age at the time of his tragic death. He was born as the son of the late Narayanan Embranthiri (Father) and Sathyabhama (Mother) at Kuzhuppilly in Tripunithura.

Dr. N Gopalakrishnan was a married man and had a wife named Rukmini. The details regarding their wedding remain unknown, but it can be said that they lived a happy life for a long time.
