The victim of a gunshot that took place in Old Town in the past month has been recognized by the police in Portland.

The cause of death for 20-year-old Elimu Nyoka Jackson, who was shot to death, was ruled a homicide by the authorities.

According to the police, two further people who were shot on October 7 were sent to a hospital, treated, and then discharged from the facility.

First responders were said to be ‘horrified by what they found’ after a son was found guilty of killing his father with a shovel.

Officers assigned to the Central Precinct of the Portland Police Bureau were conducting routine patrols in Old Town when they reported hearing gunshots at the intersection of Northwest 4th Avenue and Everett Street, according to the PPB. By the time the officers arrived, one individual, who they later determined to be Jackson, had already passed away.

The authorities have not commented on whether or not there is a suspect.
