The finale of the movie shows McCall has tracked down Miles Whittaker, the main suspect, and confronts him in the battle. McCall defeats Whittaker, but he manages to throw McCall over a railing. He falls multiple stories, but survives the fall and is seen recovering in the hospital.
The ending of the movie has a symbolic indication to it, signifying the end of McCall’s journey in seeking redemption for his sins as an operative. The movie also showed the importance of loyalty and friendship, as it was McCall’s loyalty that drove him to find the culprit of the murder of his former operative friend and bring her peace.
The ending of the movie is also ideal, thought-provoking, with a pinch of satisfaction in this thrilling story of redemption and revenge.
McCall has avenged the death of his friend and is in line with the consequences. He also has decided to retire from being a vigilante, at least for now, and continue as a cab driver. The final scene was also satisfying, where we see him leaving in his cab.
