On July 16, 2016, Dávila represented Miami Beach in the Miss Florida USA 2017 pageant. She won and was crowned Miss Florida USA 2017 by outgoing owner Brie Gabrielle. Dávila was dethroned on July 22, 2016, when it was discovered that she had hired outside hair and makeup artists instead of doing her own makeup at the Miss Florida USA pageant. This is completely against the rules of the contest.
