Nicki Minaj has taken to Twitter to share her opinion about her song Super Freaky Girl reportedly being moved out of the Rap category at the Grammys. The rapper has received several nods, but has she ever won the prestigious award?
Although Super Freaky Girl debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in August, the committee at the Grammys believes the song should compete for best pop solo performance instead of in the rap category, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The rapper confirmed the same by going live on Instagram.
SFG samples the classic, Super Freak, by Rick James, which is also sampled in the 1990s track, Can’t Touch This. The MC Hammer song won Best Rap Solo Performance and Best R&B Song at the 33rd Annual Grammy Awards in 1991.

The rapper’s songs have been nominated a total of 10 times under different categories such as Best Rap Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, and more.
But, she is yet to win the Grammy.
Nicki is, however, the recipient of a number of other renowned awards including the American Music Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and BRIT Awards among others.

Rapper on SFG being moved out of the Rap category
Nicki went live on Instagram on October 13 to talk about Super Freaky Girl not making it to the Rap category at the Grammys, while Drake’s Hotline Bling bagged an award for Best Rap Song.
Meanwhile, on Twitter, she publicly spoke about Latto’s Big Energy, which according to her should also be moved out of the same category. Nicki further pointed out using a fan’s tweet that her 2015 song, Anaconda, was still nominated for Best Rap Song.
