Following a courageous fight against cancer that lasted for fourteen months, my mother passed away on November 28.
It is with a heavy heart and a profound sense of loss that I convey the news of her passing. Her tenacity was a reflection of her attitude toward life, which was to never complain and to always be a kicking ass.
My mother and I worked side by side every day for more than a decade, and it was an extraordinary luxury to have that opportunity. Innumerable times, she was there for me, providing me with unflinching support and protecting my back.
Outside of the area of work life, I shall miss sharing the specifics of my adventures, particularly those that include running the children about.
Your love, strength, and presence have increased the quality of my life beyond all comprehension, Mom. The words of J.R.R. Tolkien, which I find comforting as I make my way through this difficult journey without you, are as follows:
