How to cancel a subscription on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap your name.
3. Tap Subscriptions.
   
4. Tap the subscription that you want to manage. Don’t see the subscription that you’re looking for?
5. Tap Cancel Subscription. (Or if you want to cancel Apple One but keep some subscriptions, tap Choose Individual Services.) If you don’t see Cancel, the subscription is already canceled and won’t renew.

Cancel a subscription on your Mac

1. Open the App Store app.
2. Click the sign-in button or your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
3. Click View Information at the top of the window. You might be asked to sign in.
4. On the page that appears, scroll until you see Subscriptions, then click Manage.

1. On your Apple Watch, open the App Store.

Cancel a subscription on your Apple TV

On Apple TV, you can edit subscriptions only for tvOS apps that are installed on that Apple TV. For Apple TV (3rd generation or earlier), use an iOS or iPadOS device or computer to manage your subscriptions.

1. Open Settings.
2. Select Users & Accounts, then select your account.
3. Select Subscriptions.
4. Choose the subscription that you want to manage, then select Cancel Subscription. If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already canceled and won’t renew.

If you don’t have an Apple device

About canceling subscriptions from Apple

• Most subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them.
• If you cancel a paid subscription, you can keep using the subscription until the next billing date.
• If you cancel during a free trial period, you might lose access to the subscription immediately.

Whether you signed up for the Apple TV+ seven-day trial or were given a year-long membership for free after buying a new device, here’s how to cancel your subscription before you have to start paying for the streaming service.

Before you begin, be warned that your access to Apple TV+ will be cut off the moment your subscription is canceled. If your trial is set to renew on a Friday, we suggest canceling on the Thursday before so you can continue using the service as long as possible.

Unsubscribe Using your iPhone or iPad

The easiest way to cancel your Apple TV+ subscription is by using your iPhone or iPad.

Start by opening the “App Store.” If you can’t find the icon on your home screen, swipe down and use the iPhone’s or iPad’s Spotlight Search to locate the app.

Now, tap on your account’s avatar located in the top-right corner of the app.

Select the “Subscriptions” option located below your Apple account information.

Locate your “Apple TV+” subscription within the Active group.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap on the “Cancel Free Trial” button.

After you select the cancellation button, you will be asked to confirm the action. Remember, your Apple TV+ subscription will end the moment you cancel the subscription. Apple does not treat the Apple TV+ trial like other subscriptions which continue through the scheduled end date.

Unsubscribe Using Your Apple TV

Subscriptions on Apple TV are handled through the Settings app. So, to begin, use your remote to highlight and select “Settings.”

Choose the “Users & Accounts” option, select your Apple account, and then click the “Subscriptions” button.

Unsubscribe Using Your Mac

On your Mac, subscriptions can be accessed from the computer’s App Store. Click on “App Store” from Launchpad or use Spotlight Search to locate it.

Click on your Apple ID located in the bottom-left corner. After you select the View Information button, you might be asked to sign in.

If you cancel, you can keep using the subscription until the next billing date. If you cancel during a trial period, you might lose access to content immediately.

If you sign up for a free trial, make sure to cancel within 24 hours of the renewal date so that you won’t be charged.

Cancel Apple TV+ on Mac

To cancel your subscription on Mac, open the App Store and then follow these steps.

1) Access your account by clicking your profile on the bottom left of the window or Store > View My Account from the menu bar.

2) Click View Information at the top and log in with your Apple ID and password if prompted.

3) Scroll down to Subscriptions and click Manage.

4) Next to Apple TV+, click Edit.

5) Click the Cancel Subscription button and make note of any subscription terms listed to the right.

6) Verify the cancellation by clicking Confirm in the pop-up window.

Open the Apple TV+ websitein your browser. Click your account icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings.

Scroll down the Settings screen and click the Manage link in the Subscriptions section.

An “Edit Your Subscription” box will pop up; click Cancel Subscription.

The next window will ask you to confirm your cancellation. If you’re ready to let go, click Cancel Subscription. At the next window, click Done.

Unsubscribe From Apple TV+ App or App Store

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the Apple TV app or the App Store app. The process works the same way for either app. Tap your account icon in the upper right. Tap the option for Manage Subscriptions or Subscriptions.

At the Subscriptions window, tap the entry for Apple TV+. Tap the Cancel Subscription link and tap Confirm to proceed with the cancellation.

Unsubscribe From Apple TV

On an Apple TV, open Settings and select Users and Accounts, your account, then choose Subscriptions to view a list of all the subscriptions linked through the device.

Select the subscription for Apple TV+ and choose the Cancel Subscription option. Confirm the cancellation to finalize the process.

We’ve shown you how to cancel and manage your paid subscriptions on iOS before. And here we wanted to focus on the new Apple TV+ service. Maybe you were interested in watching the new originals shows for the trial period, but aren’t impressed enough to keep paying $4.99/month. Or, maybe you want to stop for now and jump back in after the catalog of shows is larger.

Whatever the case, since Apple TV+ isn’t exclusive to just iOS and Apple TV devices. And there are other ways to cancel than just using an iPhone. Here’s how.

Cancel Apple TV+ Subscription on iPhone or iPad

On your iOS device head to Settings > Your Apple ID > iTunes & App Store. Then tap Apple ID > View Apple ID and log into your account.

After you’re logged in, under Account Settings, swipe down and tap Subscriptions.

That will display your active and expired subscription services. Tap on Apple TV+ and then tap on Cancel Subscription and then tap Confirm.

Cancel Apple TV+ on Your Apple TV

If you have an Apple TV box, then head to Settings > Users and Accounts > Your Account > Subscriptions > Apple TV+ – Channel > Cancel Trial. Then confirm you want to cancel it.

Cancel Apple TV+ via Your Web Browser

You can also cancel your subscription on the web. Open your browser and head to tv.apple.com and sign in using your Apple ID credentials. Then click your account icon in the upper-right corner and choose Account Settings.

On the next page scroll down to the Subscription section and click the Manage link.

Then click the Cancel Subscription button and confirm you want to end it.

Cancel Apple TV+ on Roku

Apple made its Apple TV app available on Roku and select Fire TV devices. The app gives you access to your shows and movies you purchased from Apple. It also provides access to Apple TV+ shows – as well as the ability to cancel.

Launch the Apple TV app on your Roku device and head to Settings > Accounts > Manage Subscriptions > Apple TV+ – Channel > Cancel Trial and confirm the cancellation.

I haven’t confirmed the steps for Fire TV devices yet. But I would assume they are similar if you’re canceling via the app.

Of course, if you have bought or are buying a new Apple device in the near future, you’ll get a free year of Apple TV+ with it. Just remember to set a reminder on your calendar a year from the activation date.

Apple’s App Store is full of apps with in-app subscriptions. That’s great news for developers, and it’s great for users who don’t want apps to go away. But if you don’t use an app, why not cancel your subscription?

Canceling a subscription to an iPhone or iPad app hasn’t always been the easiest thing to do, because Apple hasn’t always made the process obvious. Even if you did know. the chances are good that you do it so infrequently that you have forgotten, and there’s always the chance that Apple changed something in a recent iOS update.

Apple did in fact recently change how iPhone and iPad owners cancel subscriptions via the App Store, and thankfully, it’s now easier than ever. As with all things in life, however, these things are only easy if you know how—and we’re going to make sure you do.

How to Cancel App Subscriptions

To get started, open the App Store and tap on the icon that represents your Apple ID at the top of the screen.

Next, tap “Manage Subscriptions.”

Here you will see a list of all of the in-app subscriptions for which you are currently paying. You’ll also find any that are expired at the bottom of the list should you wish to re-subscribe.

To cancel a subscription, tap on the name of the app you want to manage.

The next screen will display all of the available subscriptions, with a tick beside the one that to which you are currently subscribed. To cancel, tap the “Cancel Subscription” button at the bottom of the screen. You’ll be asked to confirm your decision before it is actioned.

Remember, even after canceling a subscription, you will have access to the relevant features until your existing billing period comes to an end.

One of the draws of the Apple TV+ service is that you’ll be able to use it through your Apple TV device. Given that this is an Apple service, it doesn’t exactly come as a surprise that Apple would tie both hardware and software together. If you’re on your Apple TV, you can cancel the subscription through it as well.

2. Select Users and Accounts
3. Choose Subscriptions
4. Under Active, select Apple TV+

Once this is done, you will continue to be able to access Apple TV+ for the remainder of your subscription, after that you will not be able to access the service anymore. To be fair, Apple TV+ is currently only $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. This is much cheaper than other services, but then again, its selection is kind of limited compared to other platforms like Netflix.
