The problem has also been faced in the Safe Mode. Anyhow, a solution is there to get back the normal functionality of the Caps Lock key. But that method does not apply for the Num Lock key. We still need to find a solution for that. We believe that there is some hardware problem with the Windows 10 device. Till now there is no official solution to the problem but still, you can follow the below method and Fix Stuck Caps Lock Key in Windows 10 to its original functionality.

How to Fix Stuck Caps Lock Key in Windows 10

• Press Win+I to open Windows settings.
• Select Time & Language.

• Click on Language in the left pane. Select – Choose an input method to always use as default from the right section.

• On Advanced keyboard settings page, click on the link – “Input language hot keys”.

• Advanced Key Settings tab is selected by default on Text Services and Input Languages wizard.
• Click on the option Press the Shift key in “To turn off Caps Lock” section.
• Hit on the Apply and Ok buttons to save the changes.

• After the changes press the Shift key and Caps Lock will return to its normal functionality.

Note – In Windows 10 2004, go to Settings > Devices > Typing > Advanced keyboard settings link > “Input language hot keys”. Now switch to Advanced Settings and select Press the SHIFT KEY. Click Apply then OK.

CAPS LOCK is a either loved or hated, but regardless of the variety of opinions on capitalizing every single letter typed out, it can sometimes be just outright necessary. If you find yourself needing to use caps lock on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, it’s really easy to turn on and turn off, and you can do it from just about anywhere.

Toggle Caps Lock On or Off in iOS

This applies to all versions of iOS on all devices, get your iPhone or iPad and try it yourself. Note that the appearance of caps lock is slightly different depending on the version of iOS itself.

1. Be somewhere with text input and gain access to the touch keyboard as if you were to type as usual
2. Turn on CAPS LOCK by double-tapping the shift key as demonstrated by the little line under the arrow key, to turn the key inverse, or turn the key blue (prior iOS)
3. Turn it off again by tapping once on the shift key

The Caps Lock key in modern versions of iOS will turn white and the arrow itself turns black with a little line underneath it, this symbolizes that caps lock has been enabled. Here’s the key to double-press:

You will know caps lock is enabled or disabled because the shift key turns blue when it’s on, providing an obvious indicator that everything typed is about to appear in ALL CAPS. When it’s off, the shift key will be the normal grey color again, which is the default setting.

Caps Lock is actually a fairly new feature to be enabled by default in iOS. Prior to newer versions of iOS (5+), users had to tap through to Settings > General > Keyboard and then manually enable the ability to turn on caps lock this way. Now this process is reversed, with the double-tap feature enabled by default, providing access to the feature without adjusting a system setting. Nonetheless if you hate caps lock or find yourself accidentally enabling it, you can still disable it completely by flipping the “OFF” switch in the aforementioned Keyboard settings. When it’s disabled, double-tapping the Shift key has no effect outside of the ordinary, instead toggling between capping the next typed letter or not, and stopping there.

Now the next time you need to lock caps for some reason, whether it’s because you feel the need to virtually yell from iOS, want to type out a really ridiculous looking email, or a legitimate work reason, you can do so.

That can get pretty frustrating. However, there is a solution. Your iPhone has a Caps Lock feature, which works just like the Caps Lock on your computer. You can simply turn Caps Lock on and have all the letters you type be capitalized.

This quick tutorial will teach you how to enable the Caps Lock feature on your iPhone and then how to turn Caps Lock on and off when typing on your iPhone keyboard.

Let’s get started.

We will begin by making sure that the Caps Lock feature is enabled. To do this tap on your Settings app.

Next, tap on General.

Scroll down and tap on Keyboard.

The fourth item down will say Enable Caps Lock. Make sure the toggle directly to the right is switched to On.

Now that Caps Lock is enabled, let’s try turning Caps Lock on in a text message. (Note: Caps Lock will work most anywhere you can type with your iPhone keyboard. The feature is not just limited to text messages.)

How to Change Words to All Caps on iPhone or iPad

Step #1. While texting someone or while making notes: Highlight the word that you want to change into all caps.

Step #2. To highlight: either double tap on the target word or tap and hold on the word.

Step #3. Then double-tap on the Shift Key to enable the CAPS Lock key.

Step #4. You will see the word in CAPS letter along with multiple other alternate options in Quick Type bar.

Note: you make sure that the Quick Type bar option is visible; If not; make it visible only then you can get this facility.

To make it visible go to Settings → General → Keyboard and enable Predictive button.

i.e. if you type “home” in the message body then follow the steps given above to change uppercase “HOME.” Just tap on a word (shown in Quick Type bar) and word will get replaced from small case to upper case. Or, if you want to change all the letters in the small case then make a single tap on Shift Lock key to disable it; you will get the word written in a small case in Quick Type bar; just tap on it and it will replace all the letters of the words in a small case.

Apart from this, you can make another important use of the Quick Type bar. While typing message or note if you type any wrong words mistakenly then the Quick Type bar will give option suggesting you the right word. To make the change, just tap on the right word shown in the Quick Type bar.

Remember, it will show you only those words that are available in the iOS dictionary.

In this video, we will look at how we can enable capsule lock on the iPad. Let’s go to my iPad.

Now you most likely know when you start typing a new sentence on the iPad, the first letter will be capitalized. And then every letter beyond that is going to be in lower case. What do you do when you want to have everything in upper case? How do you lock our caps? So when we’re typing, everything is an upper case?

Well, the first thing we need to do is we need to make sure that this is enabled on the iPad. To do that, we go over to our Settings app. From here, what we need to do is go over to General. Under General, we have Keyboard. When we’re looking at our Keyboard Settings, we have one option here for Enable Caps Lock. We want to make sure that this is turned on. When it is turned on, we’re able to lock the caps key.

So how do we do that? Well, let’s go and open up a new note. I tap on the Notes app, and now I’m going to create a new note. When I start typing, by default, what it’s going to do is capitalize the first letter. And then every letter beyond that is going to be in lower case until I hit a period. So I type in here D. We can see that it is capitalized. And then I type an a; it is no longer capitalized.

I want to capitalize everything that I type. Well, to do that, all we have to do is just double tap on the shift key. When I double tap on it, you’re going to see a little line underneath the arrow. So I double tap on this, we can see we have a little line indicating that caps lock is now on. Everything that I type is going to be an upper case. So let’s just type my name here, and we can see it as an upper case.

To turn caps lock off, all we have to do is just tap on this again, and it brings us back to our normal state. When I type a new sentence, the first letter is going to be capitalized. And then after that, it’s going to be all lowercase until I type a period. In order to turn on caps lock again, I just double tap on it. We have the little line below the arrow. Now, anything that I type is going to be all in upper case.

So that’s how we enable caps lock on the iPad. We first have to make sure that this has turned on. You do this through the Settings app under General and then go to Keyboard. Once it is turned on, to lock your caps or to lock your shift key to type in all caps, all you do is just double tap on the shift key. You’ll see a little line under it, and anything that you type will be capitalized. Tap on the shift key to turn it back off.
