Very emotional poems are becoming very popular with poets nowadays. Poems are a great way for emo kids to express them selfs and have they feel about day to day struggles with life.
Emo Poetry
They are very sensitive and taken to heart. Emo poetry covers a wide range of emotions one might feel such as suicide or trying to hurt your self, break ups; we all know how horrible and heartbreaking that is the devastation of losing love. It would possibley be hard for someone else without understanding of the exact type of anguish hurt and betrayl that someone else would write about to clearly agree and not feel as if it was completley crazy. Sometimes something classfied as emo poetry would write something way beyond anothers possible comprhension
More emo poem info
Emo poetry is dark, warped and twisted. It will deffinitley leave your mind wondering for a long time. But they very well could be anothers inspiration. Not everyone is happy all the time, so why pretend to be? Let your feelings out! Everything in life isn’t easy and that’s what these poems include. All of the hurt, all of your hidden intentions, all of the hate and rage and pain one has. It’s like your heart is bleeding onto the page filling it with everything you have been dieing to scream out loud. The emotions one feels are universal, maybe not to the depth of another but we all feel every emotion at least by a small percentage. Emotional poetry is a unique yet diversly way to write all your feelings down on one simply piece of paper. It is usually not something you would tell anyone. But something you must find a way to get out of you. The “emo poems” and the people who write them truley understand the meaning of deep depression.
See why girls can’t get enough of two boys making out. Guys, dont feel left out, we have some nice pictures of some hot chicks.

How To-8: “How to Write an Emo Poem”
Emo poems are like Emo music, but they’re less tuneful and most people can write them.
Steps
- Pick a topic (see tips).
- Create a distinct title using one of the adjoining words that are in brackets next to the word you chose.
- Don’t worry about rhyming; it doesn’t have to rhyme, it just has to flow, like music.
- Start with writing a hook. It will be shorter than the main parts of your poem. Here is an example:
- So I lie in the darkness, words buzzin’ in my head, buzzin’ in my head, thoughts of emptiness and death, buzzin’ in my head, buzzin’ in my head, I draw my final breath and now.
- every hook should be a little diferent, maybe a different ending
- Write some verses that are at least two lines longer than the chorus.
- Piece it together. It should be set up so that you have two verses before every hook. Make sure you start on a double verse and end on a double chorus, and you have a chorus between each verse.
- Think of a loss (girlfriend, family member,or something important to you). Then just write how you would love to want it back. Show your emotions in the poem, and use words that reflect this.
HOW TO WRITE AN EMO POEM: ABRIDGED VERSION.
For those who want to write a real, emo poem but just can’t seem to find the
time.
1. Pick a title.
Generally a few key words should be emphasized. For example, chronology seems to be important to emo people; days of the week, months of the year, and seasons are excellent choices for emo titles. It is also useful to use verbs in the present progressive tense, excluding any subject-specific words. Some excellent examples are:
- Killing Tuesday
- Spooning October
- Sordid Autumn Winds
Some poor choices for the title are:
- Jumped Summer (verb is in past tense)
- Are Enjoying April (verb does not exclude subject-specific words, and besides, you’re writing an emo poem. You don’t want people to know you enjoyed anything.)
- Next Friday (you might get confused with the movie starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, leading to the risk of being considered not emo)
2. Write some stuff.
It doesn’t really matter what you write about, so long as it comes from your heart. You can write about anything in your poems and don’t need to single it out from other poems. Here are some suggestions you could write about.
- How your home, school, and love life are doing.
- Write about your favorite bands, artist, etc.
- Or take another poem and look for insperation from there.
3. Get it published or at least try to get it published.
- Death (hell, float, murder, loss)
- Loneliness (darkness, vast, corner, swallow)
- Emo (corner, scream, unholiness, you could use a line from an emo song, cutting or any self-injury[only in the poem – don’t cut yourself]).
- Dark love (lips, dance, poison kisses,)
- Note: When using a line from an emo song, be sure to change it around a bit. Mix up the words or add in some of your own so that it doesn’t sound like the band that created that line.
- Writing poetry is an excellent way to release anger and frustration.
- Put your heart into the poem; its seriously helps.
- Dont think that your words mean nothing. Poetry is one way people see how you feel!
Warnings
- If you claim yourself Emo just remember to stay true to the music that you listen to it and support it as much as possible.
- Don’t think that just because you wrote an “Emo” poem makes you Emo, because that makes you the worst kinda person, a poseur.
- Make sure that the grammar and spellings are correct.

Writing a poem is about observing the world within or around you. A poem can be about anything, from love to loss to the rusty gate at the old farm. Writing poetry can seem daunting, especially if you do not feel you are naturally creative or bursting with poetic ideas. With the right inspiration and approach, you can write a poem that you can be proud to share with others in the class or with your friends.
Sample Poems
Brainstorming for Ideas
Try a free write. Grab a notebook or your computer and just start writing—about your day, your feelings, or how you don’t know what to write about. Let your mind wander for 5-10 minutes and see what you can come up with.
Write to a prompt. Look up poem prompts online or come up with your own, like “what water feels like” or “how it feels to get bad news.” Write down whatever comes to mind and see where it takes you.
Make a list or mind map of images. Think about a situation that’s full of emotion for you and write down a list of images or ideas that you associate with it. You could also write about something you see right in front of you, or take a walk and note down things you see.
Finding a Topic
Go for a walk. Head to your favorite park or spot in the city, or just take a walk through your neighborhood. Use the people you see and nature and buildings you pass as inspiration for a poem.
Write about someone you care about. Think about someone who’s really important to you, like a parent or your best friend. Recall a special moment you shared with them and use it to form a poem that shows that you care about them.
Pick a memory you have strong feelings about. Close your eyes, clear your head, and see what memories come to the forefront of your mind. Pay attention to what emotions they bring up for you—positive or negative—and probe into those. Strong emotional moments make for beautiful, interesting poems.
Try a New Literary Device
Metaphor: This device compares one thing to another in a surprising way. A metaphor is a great way to add unique imagery and create an interesting tone. Example: “I was a bird on a wire, trying not to look down.”
Simile: Similes compare two things using “like” or “as.” They might seem interchangeable with metaphors, but both create a different flow and rhythm you can play with. Example: “She was as alone as a crow in a field,” or “My heart is like an empty stage.”
Personification: If you personify an object or idea, you’re describing it by using human qualities or attributes. This can clear up abstract ideas or images that are hard to visualize. Example: “The wind breathed in the night.”
Alliteration: Alliteration occurs when you use words in quick succession that begin with the same letter. This is a great tool if you want to play with the way your poem sounds. Example: “Lucy let her luck linger.”

Emo Poetry
Here is a emo poem we have recently received from one of our viewers
Our Love
Loves memory has traced our outline in this place.
But will the spider remember, or the sun?
Did the water capture our faces in permanence?
Does the wind create us anew as it blows?
Did the shadows from the trees record our passage beneath them?
Our secret been revealed.
Yet I have told no other.
I write these words in silence, in mute testimony
To what once was.
But our image remains alive in this place.
It can not be removed.
You, me,
We then,
Were here.
We saw the day and hoped for tomorrow.
We caught a brief glimpse of love’s promise.
We were not liars,
But thieves of time.
For now time has now forgotten us,
Yet our memory lingers, and love remembers
This place that was ours.
Falling Away
I am bored with love
and it’s passionless limbs
that drape over my bed
in a lethargic state of impotence
while wearing the same red heart
my soul picked up hitchhiking
off highway serendipity
Now here we are
alone in togetherness
trying to build dreams
with two by fours and glue,
but even a home
won’t tie us together
when our hearts live alone
Poetic vows cliched
into nothingness
like all words do, eventually
and we allowed
our bodies to become
another pair of hollow shadows
that make love to a wall
instead of each other
and we wonder why
the roses are dying
Your Lies
Funny when things never change
Even when you say they will
But while your off s(rewing her
My life is standing still
You tell me that you love me
When I go to leave
You tell me I’m your only one
And I let myself believe
I know that you are using me
But you’ll never let me go
I know that you don’t love me
I know I’m just for show
I don’t know If I can stand
To see you love another girl
You know that you broke my heart
You know that your my world
But while your standing by my side
I’ll believe your lies forever
Cause everything seems so perfect
When we are together
Autumn Times
Autumn breeze frigidly touches ailing dreadful lives
Harshly darkness quietly surrounds the broken souls
Mellow serenades that once played between hearts
Pathetically have transformed into bitter sad songs
Somewhere beyond the flossy clouds
Cupid has lost his romancing arrows
Plays sad sonorous tunes on his bow
Dedicated to all weepy lonely hearts
Howling chilly wind blows through the mist
Sounds of sorrow spread allover the place
Fuzzy humid air submerges the inner lust
Lives decay slowly as the autumn leaves fall.

I Hate You Poems
Hate is a deep feeling. It can spring up in a person if they are neglected, mistreated, or abused for long periods of time. Hate can turn us against someone. It can cause us to deny them forgiveness. It shouldn’t be allowed to well up in a heart without good reason, because it is almost impossible to erase. If you hate someone, or you simply hate their actions, remember that hatred doesn’t heal hatred. Only love can do that. We can become better people by refusing to become the things we hate.

Poems about the Power of Music
It is said that everyone marches to the beat of a drum. There is a soundtrack that individuals live their lives too. For teenagers, the music is often extremely intense. You may dance to the angry sound of heavy metal, the passion of a love song, or the empty sounding chords of depression. The sound changes from day to day, and even from moment to moment. Do not underestimate the power of music.

The lantern is a short shape poem from Japan describing a specific one syllable noun, such as a feeling, a thing, or an abstract idea. The lantern poem takes the form of a hanging lantern, going from short to wider as the poem goes on, and then becoming short again in the final line. The purpose of the lantern poem is to illuminate the subject and re-imagine or personalize it for the reader, not just to simply define it.
Make the paragraph center-aligned, in a word processing program. If using pen and paper, write in the middle of the page.
Choose a one syllable noun. This will serve as both the topic of your poem and the first line. For example, “Bed.”
Describe the noun in two syllables for the second line. It can be be either one word or two words. In my example, it could be “gentle.”
Describe the noun in three syllables for the third line. The lantern shape should start becoming noticeable, with the poem getting slowly wider with each line. For the sample poem, I’ll use, “Soft pillows.”
Describe the noun in four syllables for the fourth line. This is the widest line in the poem. For this line in the sample poem, I’ll use, “Sleep, jump, play, love.”
Choose a one syllable noun that is a synonym or a reinterpretation of the original noun for the fifth and final line. If the original noun was “bed,” the final noun could be “rest,” and thus the poem redefines a bed as rest. Note our finished example poem would look like this (although it would be center-aligned): Bed Gentle Soft pillows Sleep, jump, play, love Rest
“Creatures of the Darkness
BY VICKI JORDAN
It was world of vampires and demons, where innocence
was rare and so were the living. It was a world of darkness,
where light had been outlawed and nightfall had swallowed
us whole.
An epic war had been fought, and the creatures of the dark
had finally prevailed over the promoters of the light. Finally,
for the first time in existence, the people of the shadows could
come out and freely walk among one another in the rays of the
dying sun, which had once been used to shun them away.
A little girl, a child of the light, had survived the battle and
crawled out from under the ashes of the destruction. She looked
around at her altered world in dismay and confronted a vampire
about the changes, of which she did not approve.
“Why did you turn my world into a world of night, and make
wrong into a new form of right? How could you make all the light
disappear, and with it everyone I once loved so dear? Why are the
shadows now the new sun, and why is everything lost what you have
won?”
The vampire looked down at the little girl with amusement
and delight.
“Because, little girl, this is the real world you see, where there’s no
light to shine on false identities. We didn’t destroy the world just to scare;
we simply uncovered what was already there. What has come out was all the
darkness that was once hidden within, and you’ll soon meet the darkness
in you once my fangs pierce your skin.”
“So it’s back once more, back up the slope.
Why do they always ruin my rope
with their cuts?
I felt so ready the other day,
Had a real foretaste of eternity
In my guts.
Spoonfeeding me yet another sip
from life’s cup.
I don’t want it, won’t take any more of it.
Let me throw up.
Life is medium rare and good, I see,
And the world full of soup and bread,
But it won’t pass into the blood for me,
Just goes to my head.
It makes me ill, though others it feeds;
Do see that I must deny it!
For a thousand years from now at least
I’m keeping a diet.”
