If you’re tired of checking your internet connectivity over the failed upload of Instagram Stories and the error message “waiting for connection”, here are a few potential fixes.
Meta‘s other social networking platform, Facebook, has also left its users extremely disappointed as their pictures are believed to be gone from the gallery that had been there for years.
And, the recent issue with Instagram Stories follows its previous glitch that made the size of the story icon appear bigger, and the changes didn’t serve the users well.
Instagram users tired of ‘waiting for connection’ to post story
The sole purpose of Stories on Instagram is to allow its users to share an instant update that would disappear in a day’s time. But, the recurring “waiting for connection” error is not allowing people to post anything.
The stories aren’t uploading successfully, as many have pointed out.
The issue is faced by users around the world – from the United States to Iran to Japan – who have raised similar concerns about the feature being down for hours.
Instagram hasn’t addressed the issue at the time of writing. You can follow their Twitter account for updates on technical glitches or reach out to customer support for your respective region.
Users irked as stories won’t upload
As opposed to the pink ring that appears around your story icon after uploading a picture or a video, the post stops loading abruptly with a red ring bordering it.
Users are frustrated that they aren’t able to make a single upload in hours. And, going by the number of complaints raised on Twitter, all of Meta’s platforms, including Whatsapp, are facing their own issues.
“@Instagram I’m having trouble uploading my story. It’s not my internet connection but please fix it. Thank you!,” tweeted one.
“I can post some stories, then all of a sudden it will not let me post anymore and I always get “waiting for connection” I HATE THAT!,” wrote another.
A third person said: “Facebook and Instagram making me furious when I’m trying to upload a video to my story.”
Potential fixes for posts failing to load
Until the issue is fixed by Instagram on the backend, you could try these potential fixes.
- Update your app – Make sure you have been using the latest version of Instagram as missed updates can result in glitches.
- Log out of the app – Sometimes, simply logging out and logging back into the app can fix the issues.
- Clear Cache – An uncleared cache may slow down your device and the app. Make sure you have deleted them.
- Re-install Instagram – You could also try deleting the app from your device and re-downloading it from the app store.
- Uninterrupted network – The issues with the app could also be caused by slow internet or if your connectivity is interrupted.
