HITC asks if there is a season 4 of The Chosen confirmed as fans digest the season 3 finale.
What do you expect when you go to the cinema? Maybe you expect popcorn – or any staple snack – comfy seats, big screens, etc. Above all, on the other hand, you expect to see a movie. However, The Chosen has changed things and Fathom Events recently ensured fans of the series were treated to the theatrical experience for the season 3 finale.
Created, directed, and co-written by Dallas Jenkins, this religious historical drama has become the largest crowdfunded media project in history, so to say that it’s developed a passionate following perhaps wouldn’t do it justice.
Exploring the life of Jesus of Nazareth (played by Jonathan Roumie), the series pilot arrived in 2017 and season 1 began in 2019.
As suggested, season 3 has now come to its conclusion and the inevitable question feels more pressing than ever: Is there a season 4 of The Chosen confirmed?
Is there a season 4 of The Chosen confirmed?
The Chosen season 4 has been confirmed and has already been partly funded by the fans.
One of the exciting features on the Angel Studios website is that The Chosen fans can not only donate to season 4 but also monitor its progress in regard to how much of the project has been funded so far.
Season 4 is confirmed to be eight episodes long and, at the time of writing, the first three installments have been fully funded.
Episode 4 is 61% funded and the overall goal for the season is $3 million; $1,833,988 has been secured so far.
There is a range of funding options for fans to contribute to the making of season 4, ranging from $15 to $100k.
How many episodes in The Chosen season 3?
The Chosen season 3 is made up of eight episodes in total.
Season 3 episodes 7 and 8 combined to offer fans the season finale and they were released in cinemas on Thursday, February 2nd, and Friday, February 3rd 2023.
They then premiered on the official The Chosen app and all eight episodes are now streaming.

‘The episodes demand it’
Why was the season 3 finale in cinemas?
Well, Deseret reports that the series creator explained the move during a livestream.
“Because of the success of Episodes 1 and 2, because of the success of the Christmas special last year, theaters are saying we want The Chosen in our theater,” he revealed.
“The theaters are demanding it, and you (fans) are demanding it … and the episodes demand it.”
The Chosen season 4 is now being funded.
