Actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Regina Hall are all set to star in filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film with Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. has Paul Thomas Anderson set to direct Oscar winners in an untitled film that will begin production this year in California.
Anderson co-wrote the screenplay and, along with Sara Murphy and Adam Somner, will produce the movie.

The logline is being kept a secret and the movie is currently without a title. We have learned that it is a contemporary setting and it is the most commercial one Paul has attempted, with a commensurate budget.
It resulted from a friendship that co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Picture Group, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, forged while working on Paul’s final picture, Licorice Pizza, at MGM.
Three Oscar nominations were received for that movie: Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Director for Paul. The film, which Anderson wrote, is scheduled to begin production in California later this year.
The new movie stars DiCaprio, Penn, and Hall as the main characters, but there will be a large ensemble cast that is still being cast.
Anderson has done ensemble work in the past, notably with Boogie Nights, the film that De Luca shepherded when he headed production at New Line. The movie is important for a number of reasons.
Warner Bros., De Luca, and Abdy have the chance to rewrite the story for the studio in addition to recent developments like the strategic alliance with Tom Cruise.
It was a rough 2023, even as the studio finished with the top-grossing film Barbie.
