The director of Disney+’s Loki revealed her inspirations behind the upcoming series. One of them is children’s TV show Teletubbies. Cue the memes.
Everyone’s got to get their inspo from somewhere right? There’s always the question of whether anything is truly original.
Well for series director Kate Herron, she shared that her main influences were Mad Men, Blade Runner and the Teletubbies. Yes, the Teletubbies that every Brit knew and loved.

What are the Teletubbies?
This film masterpiece is a children’s TV series that ran from 1997-2001. It follows the day-to-day life of four colourful bear-like creatures, named ‘Tinky Winky’, ‘Dipsy’, ‘Laa-Laa’ and ‘Po’.
Oh, they also each have an antenna on their head and a TV screen on their belly.
How could we forget their housekeeper, Noo-noo the hoover.
Most famous of them all is the sun that wakes them up at the start of each day, which is a baby’s face.
All of this madness is true, so if the Teletubbies really has a strong influence on Loki, then we’re in for some weird stuff on June 9.
When asked about the Teletubbies, Kate simply said, “You’re just gonna have to wait. “

The internet memes Loki ft the Teletubbies
Forget Agent Mobius, we would love to see some Teletubbies and Loki interaction.
Concept: Tom Hiddleston as the sun baby
a concept: Loki secretly having a phobia of Teletubbies because he thinks they’re creepy after Peter Parker introduced him to them and now he has nightmares
