Mark Telea (Blues Stars) Parents: South African Father & Samoan Mother
Maleko Telea and Tuala Telea, Mark Telea’s parents, are from more than one country. With the 25-year-old winger’s father coming from South Africa, many thought we wouldn’t see him in the famous New Zealand colour.
But the Blues wing, Mark Telea, decided that he really wanted to play for the All Blacks. Telea first burst into the scenes in 2020 and played eye-catching, seven games of Super Rugby.
The one who went to Massey High School Mark said in a 2017 interview that his dream was to play for New Zealand and that he wanted to sign a contract with them.
And on Monday, when he played his first game against Scotland, Telea didn’t let anyone down. The Blues wing scored half of four tries at Murrayfield and helped his side win comprehensively with a scoreline of 31-23.

Maleko Telea And Tuala Telea Are Mark Telea Parents
Maleko Telea and Tuala Telea had a son named Mark Telea in 1996. The New Zealand rugby player is a mix of South African and Samoan. His father is from South Africa and his mother is from Samoa.
Mark was born into a family with 24 brothers and sisters, including the ones he had to adopt. The 25-year-old man is from a small village in Samoa called Leauva’a. He speaks Samoan as his first language.
Mark Telea’s father, Maleko Telea, was a pastor. He was born in South Africa but moved to New Zealand when he was young. Maleko Telea was a well-liked member of his community, and he always went to his son’s games.
Mark is glad that his mother, Tuala Telea, was able to see him play his first game for the Kiwis on Monday. He almost lost her in 2019. Three years ago, tragedy struck the Telea family when they lost their older son, Jerico Telea.
Jerico Telea, Mark’s brother, died in April 2019 after a drunk man beat him up and didn’t get in trouble for it. And Tuala Telea’s heart broke soon after Jerico’s death.
Mark’s family members told Stuff that they were worried about whether or not Tuala would live. But fortunately, Tuala pulled through and was able to recover from a huge heartbreak.
But the Telea family has put the past behind them and is now excited to see Mark make his mark on the New Zealand rugby team. Mark told the All Blacks Facebook page that he does everything he does for his family.
Mark said that his father was the first person to find out about him making the team. Then his mother and sister found out. The player also said that when his father heard the news, he cried with happiness.

But in his recent interview, he did mention talking to his sister after his dad and mom after he was called for the debut, and we believe it is his youngest sister, Nevawh Telea, he is talking about.
1. Neveah Telea
Neveah Telea, who is 23 years old, is Mark Telea’s youngest sister. Neveah went to New Zealand’s Massey High School for high school, just like her older brother.
The winger was close to his late brother Jerico, and both of them were very proud of their daughter Neveah. Mark said in an interview before the game that his mom, dad, and sister were so happy about him being chosen that tears were coming out of their eyes.
2. Anitta Eliza Telea Fuimaono
Mark Telea’s oldest sister is Anitta Fuimano. After her brother Jerico died, Anitta was also the one who talked to the media.
Anitta said the following in the victim impact statement: “Our family is beautiful and full of love. My family has never talked about adoption because we all treat each other as equals.”
She also told the New Zealand tabloid Stuff that their mother had a heart attack not long after Jerico told them about it. But luckily, she got through it. Anitta is married now, and she has two kids, Ruby and Monah.

Mark Telea Career
Telea was chosen to be a member of the Blues team for the 2020 Super Rugby season because he played well for North Harbour in the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup season. At the start of the season, Telea was the first choice for the Blues to play on the left wing. The Blues coaching staff was right to have faith in Telea after he did well early in the season. In Round 2, when the game was played in Newcastle and it was raining, Telea led the Blues to a 32-12 win over the Waratahs. During the game, Telea scored three tries. In Round 4, against the Bulls in Pretoria, Telea crossed the try line again and scored a spectacular try to dot the ball down before two defenders forced him out of the play. Because he kept doing well in Super Rugby Aotearoa, the North Island picked him to play in the North versus.

After a good Super Rugby season with the Blues in 2022, Telea was asked to be a substitute for the All Blacks on June 30, 2022. After Telea had done well with the Blues, this happened.
