Netflix is known for delivering some heavy-hitters when it comes to popular TV shows, whether that’s Stranger Things or the more recent Wednesday that broke streaming records. One of the most beloved shows in the streamer’s arsenal is, without a shadow of a doubt, Cobra Ka. Despite there still being the final season left to wait for, the creators of the martial arts drama have offered a brand new series to immerse ourselves in.

What is Obliterated on Netflix?
Meshing action, comedy, and drama, Obliterated is the latest series from Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, the figures behind Cobra Kai.
All eight episodes premiered on Netflix on Thursday, November 30th 2023, transporting audiences into a wild Las Vegas landscape of partying, danger, and debauchery.
It centers around a team of highly trained specialists, from Navy SEALs to CIA, attempting to prevent a terrorist organization from destroying the iconic Nevada city. When they believe they’ve succeeded, they gather for a drug-fuelled night on the town.
However, there’s one major issue: that bomb they believed they stopped going off? It wasn’t the real thing. Filled with alcohol and other substances, caught up in a night of letting loose, the team is thrust back into the mission with obvious hindrances holding them back. Nevertheless, lives depend on them to get the job done.
Similar to Cobra Kai, the approach to action and comedy feels like a nostalgic throwback to decades past.

Obliterated series age rating
Obliterated has received a TV-MA rating for language, nudity, sex, smoking, substances, and violence.
In contrast, Cobra Kai is rated TV-14 for language, smoking and violence.
As for the UK, Cobra Kai has a 15 rating, catered to more of a teenage audience, whereas Obliterated has received the highest rating, an 18.
The Cobra Kai creators aim for a far more adult audience with their latest offering, amping up the violence and explicit content to craft something that will induce some audible gasps and big laughs.
“I don’t think there’s ever been something quite like Obliterated where you see the kind of big laughs [and] the big outrageous comedy that you would see in those big R-rated summer blockbusters merged together with the Mission: Impossible type things,” co-creator Jon explained during an interview with Screenrant.
Obliterated is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
