UPDATE: Davenport Police have identified a man who died after a shooting early Friday, according to a news release.

Dimitri L. Martin, 34, died from injuries suffered during this incident. Police ask for help in finding an involved car along with any associated individuals, the release says.

The car is described as a dark-colored, possibly dark blue, four-door sedan. Additionally, the car is described as having:

  • Headlamps with a blue tint, possibly LED
  • Front two windows are stock or un-tinted
  • Chrome trim around the windows
  • A turn signal on the side mirror housing
  • A third brake light at the bottom of the back window
  • Dual exhaust
  • No exterior damage.

The incident remains under investigation. No further information was available Monday.

EARLIER: Davenport police are investigating an overnight shooting a little before 1 a.m. Friday morning.

Police responded to a report of gunfire near 3rd and Ripley. One person was taken to the hospital.

Police advise avoiding the area of 400 West 3rd Street due to a road closure as the scene is processed.

No arrests have been announced.
