Joy Behar, one of the iconic hosts of The View, has shared her thoughts on who could be a suitable replacement for Whoopi Goldberg on the hit show Shark Tank.
It seems that Barbara Corcoran, a star on Shark Tank, has been actively trying to persuade Whoopi Goldberg to join their ranks as a guest investor, but Whoopi has been hesitant to make the leap.
During a candid discussion with Brian Teta, a producer of The View, on the podcast The View: Behind The Table, the topic of finding a replacement for Whoopi Goldberg on Shark Tank was raised.
When asked which host from The View might be the best fit as an investor, Joy Behar, aged 80, had a clear contender in mind – Sunny Hostin, a 55-year-old lawyer and her co-host on The View.
Joy expressed that Sunny’s strictness and her wealth of ideas for potential shows made her a prime candidate for the role, stating, “Yeah, I think she would be the best.”
Brian Teta agreed with her assessment, concurring that Sunny would indeed excel in this position.
The context for this suggestion emerged when the cast of Shark Tank appeared on The View. They revealed their strong desire to have Whoopi Goldberg, aged 67, join them as a guest shark.
Barbara Corcoran expressed her support for this idea, stating unequivocally, “That would be Whoopi. No one would argue with me. She tells it like it is.”
However, Whoopi seemed somewhat reluctant, expressing her affection for The View and playfully noting that she would require a substantial paycheck to consider the offer.
Whoopi Addresses Retirement Rumors
This suggestion also comes amidst ongoing speculation about Whoopi Goldberg’s potential retirement.
Fans of The View have been wondering whether the beloved host of the show might soon step down from her role as moderator after an impressive 16-year tenure.
Whoopi addressed these retirement rumors in an exclusive interview, sharing that she feels like she’s been “retired” throughout her career, emphasizing her love for her current arrangement with a lighter work schedule on Fridays.
Whoopi has maintained a unique schedule, typically taking Fridays off while her co-hosts, including Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin, fill in.
She elaborated on her contract and the flexibility it affords her, with the assurance that as long as she’s meeting her contractual obligations, everything remains amicable. She also mentioned her recent travels, including a visit to Rome, Italy, to meet the Pope.
With a sense of humor, she noted that she was so busy that she didn’t even have the time to inform her colleagues about receiving the American Icon Award at the FGI Gala.
The View and Shark Tank appear to be intermingling in the search for Whoopi Goldberg’s potential replacement for the latter.
While discussions and desires are afoot, Whoopi remains an integral part of both shows and her retirement, if and when it happens, is a topic of intrigue among fans.
