A photoshopped image of Jason Momoa without his iconic beard is Twitter’s latest viral meme.

The 43-year-old American actor is known for his dark bushy beard and long curly hair which goes way past his shoulders.

He rose to prominence after appearing in the drama series Baywatch: Hawaii and was then cast in Game of Thrones, which shot him to fame.

The Aquaman actor has fans across the globe who are all in agreement that Momoa should never shave his beard after seeing the photo.

However, most don’t realize that he has actually shaved off his beard before…

Jason Momoa with no beard meme goes viral

The meme, which has gone viral in November 2022, is two side-by-side images of the actor – one with his beard and one without.

“Momoa without his beard. To all women, I’m sorry in advance,” the caption says, speaking to the millions of women who fancy him.

The first photo is a real image of the 43-year-old, whilst the second is an edited one that has got rid of his thick beard and mustache.

Jason looks completely unrecognisable without his iconic facial hair and people on Twitter are in disbelief.

Twitter reacts to the actor with no beard

One person wrote: “Everyone is beautiful in their own skin but imma keep it 100%. I, like Jason Momoa, cannot shave my beard without looking like a different person #beardgang.”

“Of all the forces to conquer Jason Momoa, I never suspected the beardless photo would be responsible. Beards are a gift to aging dudes,” said another.

A third person added: “Beards do for men, the same thing makeup does for women. Creates an illusion.”

“Jason Momoa without a beard looks like the bass player from a Ratt cover band,” someone else tweeted.

Another simply put: “Nooooo!”

He did shave his beard once

Fans aren’t keen on his beardless look, but the actor did actually shave off his facial hair in real life a few years ago.

In 2019, he got rid of the beard in the middle of the desert and posted the video titled “Goodbye Drogo…I SHAVED” on YouTube.

“I’m shaving this beast off, it’s time to make a change. A change for the better… for my kids, for your kids, the world,” he joked in the caption.

The actor did it to raise awareness of the plastics that are “killing the planet” and told everyone to recycle and save our world.

“Let’s clean up our oceans and our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make a switch to INFINITELY RECYCLABLE aluminum. Water in cans, NOT plastic,” Jason wrote.

Thankfully, he doesn’t look like the meme with no beard. It actually looks quite nice, but we’re still team beard all the way.
