Whoopi Goldberg’s granddaughter is following in her famous grandmother’s footsteps and pursuing a career in show business. Claim to Flame is a new reality show on ABC, and Amara Skye is making her first television appearance on it. The show features 12 contestants, all of whom are related to famous people, who compete for a cash prize of $100,000 while attempting to conceal their identities while living together in the same house.

On July 11, the show made its debut, and it features a total of 12 contestants battling against one another in a variety of different challenges. The show is hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, who are brothers. According to the New York Post, Amarah, who is 32 years old, got cast on the show after discussing it with her grandmother, Goldberg, who is 66 years old and was first doubtful. Amara detailed how the casting directors initially contacted her through a direct message (DM) on Instagram and explained the significance of Goldberg’s endorsement. She elaborated by saying, “Her approval is always important to me. In the beginning, she was confused about sliding into the DMs and how individuals conduct themselves in today’s world. She had a suspicion that it was an elaborate hoax and cautioned me to be wary of it. Amara pursued the chance despite the fact that as the papers arrived, co-host of “The View” was already on board with it.

Who is Amara Skye?

Whoopi Goldberg’s one and only child, Alex Martin, who she had with her ex-husband Alvin Martin, gave birth to their daughter Amara Skye on November 13, 1989, in the state of California. She was raised with her two brothers, Jerzey Dean and Mason Dean, and her birthday is the same as that of her grandmother.

Amara dropped a hint about her famous relative on the reality show by mentioning that she went to see her grandma when she was working on the set of “Sister Act 2.” In her words: “It was probably when I was 4 or 5… I can still vividly recall being in the presence of the cast and how they coddled me like a baby mascot. In addition, I distinctly recall being present for all of the singing rehearsals.”

An event listing for Amara’s first solo art show in July 2022 included a description of her as a “up and rising New York/New Jersey-based artist.” According to Bustle, this description appeared in the listing. In addition to this, it was stated that she intends to combine graffiti and abstract art and that she begins each day by reciting her life motto, “Skeezy Does It,” which is also the source of inspiration for her Instagram name. “My style is more abstract and poetic,” she explained to the New York Post. “I like a bit Basquiat, stuff that is similar to Banksy,”

Amara and her husband Chris, whom she wed in 2013, have a daughter together whom they have called Charli Rose. Due to the fact that he avoids the attention of the public, there is not a lot of information that can be found about her marriage. On the other hand, her daughter reached the age of eight this past March. And according to sources, the reality star will be holding her first solo art display on the 30th of July on St. Nicholas Avenue in the borough of Brooklyn.
