Netflix series Ginny & Georgia is packed with dramatic twists and turns and that is especially the case in episodes 8 and 9 of season 2.

The episodes serve almost as a two-part special, with the first episode showing the various events from one character’s perspective, giving fans an incomplete picture, before the second episode adds complete and devastating context to each of the scenes.

Thanks to this unique format, episode 8 ends on an agonizingly tense moment as a gunshot can be heard but what exactly happened and who got shot in Ginny & Georgia?

Gunshot heard in Ginny & Georgia season 2, episode 8

The final moments of episode 8 in Ginny & Georgia season 2 are heart-breaking to watch as the episode ends with Marcus and Ginny breaking up.

Marcus’s sister, Max, comes to console him in the final scene but after their emotional conversation, the pair of them hear a gunshot ring out from outside their house and they are instantly left fearing the worst before the credits start to roll.

In episode 9, it’s revealed that the gunshot came from inside Ginny and Georgia’s house, an alarming fact after nine-year-old Austin was shown finding one of Georgia’s guns earlier on in the season.

Who gets shot in Ginny & Georgia?

Gil was the person who was shot in episodes 8 and 9 of Ginny & Georgia season 2.

In episode 9, it was revealed that Gil had snuck into Ginny and Georgia’s house to angrily confront the latter after he had his apartment application denied after Georgia had pleaded with Cynthia to block his planned move to Wellsbury.

The tense scene saw Gil push Georgia around into a shelving unit after she tried to grab a knife to protect herself.

Both Ginny and Austin rushed downstairs to see what the commotion was about and alarmingly, Austin was holding one of the guns that Georgia had stashed around the house, which he quickly raised and fired at Gil.

The bullet grazed Gil’s shoulder on its way into the kitchen wall, leaving an incriminating hole next to the fridge.

Despite the terrifying circumstances, Georgia wasn’t fazed and quickly sprung into action, checking with her kids to make sure that they were both ok before patching up both Gil’s shoulder and the bullet hole in the wall.

Fans react to the anxious scenes

It’s safe to say that episodes 8 and 9 were packed with huge talking points and Ginny & Georgia fans have wasted no time in taking to social media to discuss the pivotal scenes.

One fan on Twitter wrote about the foreshadowing of the gun earlier in the season: “I’m watching Ginny & Georgia but I can already tell based on this gun that something is going to happen.”

While another added: “The chills through my BODY when Austin shot Gil and how Georgia immediately went to survival and protection mode. The ‘I have the gun now.’ Then the ‘You good?’ to Austin. Then Ginny. Chills.

“Georgia is a MOM,” commented this fan. “She took the gun from Austin, pointed it at Gil but she made sure her kids were good.”

Another Twitter user commented: “Something told me Austin was the one who shot that gun but for some reason, I thought he’d shoot Georgia.”

And finally, this fan also wrote about the earlier scene: “Probably the part I was most afraid of was when Austin started looking for hidden Christmas presents & you knew he was going to find the gun. I literally said out loud ‘No don’t do this, don’t do this to me.’ Then when he dropped it omg.”
