BP Fallon, often regarded as a rock’n’roll Renaissance man, takes center stage with his band, The Bandits, delivering a stellar debut album, ‘Still Legal,’ under their independent label Vibrosonic Records. BP Fallon was born in 1946. As of now he is 77 years old.
Fallon’s musical journey includes a noteworthy collaboration with Jack White, producing his first record released on White’s label, Third Man Record (TMR 022). The 45 features the spoken-word piece ‘Fame #9’ backed by ‘BP Fallon Interview By Jack White’ and the BP Fallon/Aaron Lee Tasjan song ‘I Believe In Elvis Presley,’ showcasing Jack White III’s sultry bottleneck guitar skills.
A man of many talents, BP Fallon is the stamp to an envelope in rock’n’roll. Immersed in music since birth, the Irish icon has been a disc jockey since the age of 17 and has worn hats as a photographer and writer.
As a rock’n’roll sage, Fallon served as a publicist for legends like Led Zeppelin, T.Rex, and Tone Loc. His eclectic career includes playing tom toms on ‘Whole Lotta Love’ live, being described by Marc Bolan as the “Purple-browed Beep” in T.Rex’s hit ‘Telegram Sam,’ and miming bass guitar with John Lennon on Top Of The Pops.
Fallon’s journey involves stints at The Beatles’ Apple Records, where he tested Paul McCartney’s grass, and as a Press Officer at the infant Island Records, representing acts like Traffic, Joe Cocker, Free, King Crimson, and Jimmy Cliff.
His footprint in the music industry extends to backing vocals on U2’s ‘Pride (In The Name Of Love)’ and playing a pivotal role in Bob Geldof’s and Ian Dury’s rise to stardom. Fallon managed Johnny Thunders and contributed harmonica to the Johnny Thunders album ‘So Alone,’ alongside Phil Lynott, Steve Marriott, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook of The Sex Pistols.
As an accomplished photographer, Fallon has captured images of legends from Jerry Lee Lewis to Public Enemy, Emmylou Harris to Iggy Pop. With three best-selling books to his name, including ‘U2 Faraway So Close,’ documenting his adventures on U2’s Zoo TV tour, Fallon continues to leave an indelible mark.
Now based in New York, Fallon, described as a “visionary imp” in ‘Hammer Of The Gods’ and a “gentle wispy sorcerer” by Vogue magazine, has come full circle with BP Fallon & The Bandits, presenting ‘Still Legal’ – an ode to a lifetime immersed in the heartbeat of rock’n’roll.
